When rooting we do our Android device to run applications with root privileges to access the default functions are protected by the system. Well, Google has put a bit more difficult to root permissions from Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean).
Since the new version of Android and are missing access permissions setuid and setgid to allocate them to applications and so run as root. Google explains it in the Android code. This means that the methods used to date for rooting our devices have to be modified to allow applications as SuperUser or SuperSU working again, because if not about all that work would be the ADB shell.
The good thing is that there is already a solution to give superuser permissions from Android 4.3, and is modifying the recovery to add a demon, a process that will always run in the background that will allow us to access to setuid and setgid give elevated privileges to applications that require them to function properly.
Chainfire of SuperSU already has the new process root for Nexus to re-run your application, and ClockworkMod Koushik Dutta of SuperUser also look to implement this method in your recovery and try to find another way to get back to superuser without relying on a daemon process.
The good thing is that being open source Android this problem does not have the ROMs to not have to rely on a demon to work SuperUser applications, corrected this problem. For example, 10.2 CyanogenMod have already corrected this problem root. Actually the "problem" of this change are for Android devices with standard firmware, now no longer rooting the device without changing the recovery to run root applications, or at least for now.

Android 4.3 offers new possibilities smart watches and alternative launchers
Last Friday there appeared a test version of Android 4.3 for the Samsung Galaxy S4. This new Android version is not announced by Google, which is primarily a job was to figure what is actually new. One of the new features has to do with notifications.
Android 4.3
over the next version of Android, we have heard many different rumors, but mainly about when the new version of Android would be launched and not so much about what would be new in Android 4.3. We expected to hear about Android 4.3 at Google I / O last May, but there were only some more details released.
Last week was in the United States start selling the Google Edition of Samsung Galaxy S4. This hardware device is exactly equal to the Galaxy S4 in the Netherlands and Belgium is available, but runs on a standard version of Android. Last Friday leaked a test version of a system update for the Google edition of the S4 and it turned out to Android 4.3.
Besides some small changes in Wifi and presumably the addition of Bluetooth LE (Bluetooth Low Energy) there are not many changes in Android 4.3. Under the hood there will be a thing adapted. Presumably we heard during Google I / O that the next version of Android would still run smoother and make multi-core processors for displaying the interface. Better use
Notifications in Android
One of the main features of Android is the notification from the start screen. Here are several notifications (system) collected apps, so you can see if you have received a new mail and if there might be an application in the background a file is downloading.
Applications can basically only see their own notifications on Android. This is an exception: it is possible to register in the system as --', for people with disabilities an application. This example can also read the notifications screen readers. Applications such as Light Flow that the notification light on your device to change color in different type’s notifications, use these options.
The possibilities are limited: it is not possible to make them disappear from another app, notifications but 4.3 seem to be changing with Android. The developer includes Nova Launcher, Kevin, told Android Police that he had new opportunities in the area of notifications found. That changes are coming, we already knew: the creator of Light Flow had been told that foreground applications from Android 4.3 requires a notification icon to display Google. This foreground applications are not necessarily in the picture, but not just shut down or "frozen" at the moment there is not enough memory.
New features
what are those changes that Kevin did exactly? He found a new screen hidden in the settings of Android 4.3. Then you can see that you are missing. Notifications A complete notification history so. The most interesting is that it seems that applications notifications from other apps can read and delete. This offers a lot of new possibilities. Firstly, applications like Light Flow no detours have to use to access the notifications access. Secondly, it seems that it is possible to replicate. Notification bar Launchers would, for example, can build their own notification bar on the home screen.
There are still some limitations found. Course, application developer’s permission (permission) questions when installing the app from other applications to view notifications, but in the test version of Android 4.3 that has surfaced is not possible for application developers to request these permissions: only system apps can use it. Possibly this will still change before Android 4.3 officially comes out. It seems, at least with only the changes in the area of notifications not yet possible to replace. Official notification bar anywhere
The possibilities are particularly interesting for applications such as Google Glass and smart watches. These smart devices can then easily view notifications and, when they are read, delete. Especially when you consider that Bluetooth LE is added to communicate with these devices, it appears that Android 4.3 is ideally suited to work with smart watches and gadgets like Google Glass. A smart watch Google would sometimes be higher than we expected. Closer

As so often come after the update directly a number of 'complaints' via the info-mail, forum and social media. This weak after a few days usually off and everything seems to work well. In the update of the Samsung Galaxy S II, we get more and more messages within the battery life would be much worse, some even speak of a decrease by 50%. This is not the first time that there are problems with the battery after an update of the Samsung Galaxy S II, this was also the case with the update to Android 4.0.
There are also people who say that it restore to factory settings would help for battery use. Samsung also recommends owners of the Galaxy S II to do this if battery problems after the update. For a more or less mandatory update course this is very strange.
Samsung
we have contacted Samsung this afternoon, there were currently no signals received at our contact, but she would demand it off 'in the organization. “We have not received a reply, but as soon as we know more, we will of course let you know immediately. For now, we are naturally curious if you have the same experience, will shorten the battery after update to Android 4.1.2? You can also select on our Samsung Galaxy S II forum.
Comment Samsung: A factory reset (restore factory settings) would have to solve the problems. However, it is recommended to make a backup, all settings and any files will be lost!

It is therefore not a major update, but according to users with Android 4.2.2 in any cases a problem with the Bluetooth streaming audio. It is a bug of the Nexus 7 in this case, which faltered streams via Bluetooth. It seems likely that the bug is included in this Android version, since Google last month reported that the problem was solved and the solution in the next Android version would be.
Nexus 4
The Galaxy Nexus seems the only smartphone that has received the update. The Nexus 4 seems according Tweakers not yet been included in the rollout of Android 4.2.2. Android JellyBean now at 10 percent devices
All sweets which Android versions are named to be sticky, but the Gingerbread remain so far the largest number of Android users stick.
The latest version of the Android operating system, Jellybean, has now - six months after the official launch - a market share of 10 percent, according to figures from Google. Gingerbread, that especially in many forerunners of the real smartphone is included, still has a market share of 47.6 percent. Even Froyo, the forerunner of Gingerbread, still has a market share of 9 percent.
Gingerbread was also on new phones come long after the modern versions as Android Honeycomb and Ice Cream Sandwich available.
Telecom Providers slow modernization
Android does not have the automatic upgrade system such as Apple iOS has. Telecom providers have the opportunity own customized versions of Android version to distribute the devices that they issue. It is much cheaper for them even older Android versions to deliver the adjustments which they have carried out, soon after the introduction of a new Android version to develop a custom version.
Moreover, the precursor of Android Jelly Bean, Ice Cream Sandwich, there are 9 months to get a market share of 10 percent to reach. The flow seems better to get started. That's good news for developers of Android apps, not only with a highly fragmented market hardware to do but also take into account at least 5 different versions of the operating system.

Make jellybean look like in windows pc or laptop
Jellybean is beautiful, rich, clear and "clean". For me, it therefore flashing a custom ROM unnecessary. But how would this Jellybean experience look like on your Windows PC or laptop? A user on Flickr, a website for sharing photos and video clips, this has done it.
Jellybean desktop
The Flickr user has his desktop Knight Hawk2 way that it looks exactly like the Jellybean environment that we are used to on Android Devices.
• Download this wallpaper for your desktop
• With XWidget you can change the icons on your desktop. XWidget download for Windows here.
• Next you need matching icons. These can be found here.
• The program Stardock's ObjectDock is needed to create a launcher on the left side of your screen.
Menu bar
The menu bar in Windows down, Knight Hawk2 hidden and then have a custom widget that he himself has made. This widget allows you to his blog via Dropbox link download (as ZIP-file). Then grab the file and open it with XWidget. Then you change the icons with those from the previously downloaded ZIP file.
It's a bit of work but the results are worth it. We are interested in your findings!

Samsung Galaxy S3 and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean Offensive
Users of the Samsung Galaxy S3 can rejoice: Android 4.1 ("Jelly Bean") is rolled out shortly. Developers also shine: The Android source code was revealed.
Google's operating system to its name once again lives up - and felt the barriers go up further: yet this month to Android 4.1 ("Jelly Bean") to be rolled out on the Samsung Galaxy S3.
So that developers continue to have even more fun on Android, now the source code for the Jelly Bean firmware was published on the web: Open Source as it is in the book.
Members will be allowed - and that is certainly improved good news-the Android software and the functionality can be extended further. Shortly before the launch of Android 4.1 on the Samsung's flagship, this is certainly a message that makes it heard. And the Apple iOS-bearing form perhaps a few beads of sweat on his forehead.
New custom ROMs for the Samsung Galaxy S3, including Jelly Bean Nothing stands in the way. For all nerds and IT Samsung has the source code by the way actually made completely public: Anyone can stop by the official site and download the source code as you wish, with the non-computer meanwhile, can certainly start not much.
But transparency is logical - since Samsung and Google will certainly benefit from this move: The operating system is more sophisticated piece by piece. Even now, many experts see Android on par with iOS. Who, however, Android still "complicated" as described, which is at least in the eyes of editors the little green robot not just males. iOS, especially in the new version 6, is a very mature operating system. But the Android "freedoms" are available now for many users, the real pleasure when it comes about the implying of widgets. When grouping software not on the fun stops.
✎ iPhone 5 with new Samsung Galaxy S3 commercials "scolded"?
Android has certainly in the development of so few in iOS "copied". But it will be exciting to watch when Apple made the rather rigid iOS icon principle "breaks" and also breaks new ground. In any event, - various tests to confirm this - even iOS harmonize very well with the current hardware of the iPhone 5. Here you can keep up with perhaps only the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, which does not require additional user interface of the mobile phone manufacturer: Android "pure".
Many users of the Samsung Galaxy S3 pleased meanwhile to the release of Android 4.1 - we are talking about days, not of weeks ...
Samsung Galaxy S3 and the wait for Android 4.1
Users of the Samsung Galaxy S2 remember with "terror" by how long it "once" took to the latest Android version was rolled out to their device.
But in the case of the Samsung Galaxy S3 now everything seems to be better - and the "team" have learned from the mistakes of the past: Apparently, Samsung has begun to Android 4.1.1 with the pretty name of "Jelly Bean" on the S3's flagship roll out.
One limitation users should probably leave this country look a little impatient from the laundry: Android 4.1.1 to now, not been delivered in Germany - but what is not is, in all probability soon be. Germany that is pending in the back seems if the smartphone boom is very unlikely.
Samsung Galaxy S3 models that are connected directly to a network operator may have to take some time with Android 4.0 ("Ice Cream Sandwich").
Slight delay
the delay in the delivery time was really limited to: First Samsung had announced to deliver the latest version of Google's mobile operating system in September.
iPhone 5 Production: The fists fly
recently underwent Android 4.1 on the Nexus one test and was completely convinced by the new functionality of the operating system. Soon can therefore users of the Samsung Galaxy S3 forward to the latest version of the little green robot dude.
The Android update is certainly good news, the iPhone 5 but currently dominates the headlines. But initial tests have already shown that the Samsung Galaxy S3 is certainly not in front of the new device from --. Android 4.1.1 also may well be another selling point for the device of the IT giant from South Korea. Recently there were rumors already, after the Samsung Galaxy S 4 could be on the market in the spring: The battle of the two "brawlers" preserved us so.

Galaxy tab getting Android 4.1 Jelly Bean? Samsung gives clarity
It is a bit of a soap opera regarding the Android update for the Samsung Galaxy tablets, mainly because it always lacked clarity from the Korean company. There have been many promises and today is once again a promise to. Samsung in the U.S. clarity about what Galaxy tablets update to Android 4.1 Jellybean expect.
Android 4.1 Jelly Bean
There is good news for those who have one of the new tablets manufacturer bought. The Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus, Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0), Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) and the recently launched Galaxy Note 10.1 definitely get an update to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Logical consequence is bad news for owners of first generation Galaxy Tab 8.9 and Galaxy Tab 10.1. Also owners of a Galaxy Tab 7.7 do not seem to get updated to the latest version of Android.
When the updates will be rolled out is not clear. Across The Verge, Samsung know that this depends on the location and (if applicable) the provider. Previously, Samsung has confirmed that the Galaxy Note 10.1 for the end of this year an update to Android 4.1 Jellybean would get. It is likely that the other models later.
Android 4.1 Jellybean standards contain already a large number of improvements, of which the most important is Project Butter. Yet Samsung itself carries a number of adjustments in the Touchwiz interface. Thus it is possible the size of the "Pop Up Play" window to passsen and a video recording pause. In addition, an Easy Mode added that helps you organize your favorite contacts in a widget can store on the home screen, and there will be a "Blocking Mode" that allows you more control over incoming calls and notifications.
Android 4.0 ICS
For that matter, the first generation Galaxy Tab 8.9 and Galaxy Tab 10.1, and Galaxy Tab 7.7 in the Netherlands continue to update to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

Galaxy S3 will be updated to Android 4.1 in a few weeks
The world of the updates is, for many, a difficult to understand. Days after he released a device as powerful as the Galaxy S3, equipped with the OS version Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, a new version of this platform. As you may know, the company introduced the newest Google Android 4.1 Jelly Bean edition of on a specific event on the firm's internal developments. Anyway, by now, more demanding owners Samsung Galaxy S3 are looking forward to that Samsung decided to update the device to the latest version of Android. Today we have exciting news about it, so go to the point. And sources close to the Korean Sammobile reported at half the update to Android 4.1 for Galaxy S3 will occur late in the third quarter. Is September the month chosen?
Well, all bets are run in late September, although the same source claims that as always in these cases, the update could be delayed until early October. As they explain, at this very moment Samsung engineers are working on updating, adapting the data packet that Google has presented all the characteristics that normally applies Samsung, but the fact is that the test phase have already been overcome and would be studying the publication. Do not forget that almost every family device are integrated Galaxy Touchwiz interface, Samsung's a classic that offers that special touch to all terminals in the catalog. In short, the fact that the upgrade will last until the unsuspected has much to do with the assurance that the company needed time to integrate new firmware on a device. The aim is to avoid any problems in the process of renovation and operation of the device, of course.
But this is not the only device that will benefit from a quick update to Android 4.1. In fact, many users of other terminals that are looking forward to their share of jellybeans. The same source reveals that users of the Samsung Galaxy Note Jelly Bean will immediately occur after the official update of the current flagship of the company. What about the Samsung Galaxy S2 will also receive the corresponding data packet? Well, the truth is that at this point we can not yet confirm that this device can be passed to Jelly Bean.
Currently, engineers are examining all possibilities, so you should remain cautious about a possible disposal technician from Samsung. The Galaxy Note 2 to be launched on August 29 will come fitted with Android 4.0, but most likely is that the Android 4.1 update to run early and without incident. If these predictions are confirmed and finally Samsung seems appropriate to inject Android 4.1 to Samsung Galaxy S2, the three updates would occur during the fourth quarter, although not determined a specific date for the coming-of each data packet.

The hardware manufacturer wanted from here quickly and sold the tablet, which at launch still cost $ 500, now only $ 100. Moments later, as a gift a webOS given the open source community, but so far there is little done with it.
The developers at XDA did it not by sitting and started an Android port. Some time ago, TouchPad owners all over XDA Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Now it was possible to CyanogenMod 10 with Android 4.1 Jellybean to get working on the tablet, but it must be noted that this is still a very early version. So working hardware acceleration for audio and video yet, and the front camera and microphone.
The main thing now works, the Internet functions, what works most smoothly, judging by the video below. It is expected that the port itself be improved.
