Archos 101 XS Android Tablet: first of Gen10 XS line

Archos on Wednesday a new Android tablet, the Archos 101 XS, announced. The tablet is light, thin and comes with a new protective case with built-in keyboard, which also functions as a docking station.

The new tablet, according to Archos very thin in the first place: with its 7.8 millimeters, the device even 15 percent thinner than the third-generation iPad. Also the weight of 585 grams, according to the French electronics manufacturer very modest.

The 101 XS has a screen of 10.1 inches. This screen has a mva panel and a resolution of 1280 by 800 pixels. Under the hood sits a 1.5 GHz processor from Texas Instruments.

Cover Board
The tablet is the first product in Archos' Gen10 XS series, later this year will be extended to smaller models, the Archos 97 and 80 XS. All models in this product series are supplied with the Cover Board, a new protective case with built-in keyboard.

Archos has announced that the 101 XS mid-September on the market. In combination with 16GB of storage, the unit will cost 379 euros. Later this year the 97 and 80 XS.
