BBM until next week at the Google Play Store

bbm for blackberry
The launch of BBM would take place last Saturday, but unfortunately for the millions of people waiting so that was not. Head of BBM at Blackberry Andrew Bocking explains how and why the delay.

Delay
After the failure of BBM in the Google Play Store a message soon came out that there were problems that were caused by a leaked version of BBM. Andrew Bocking explains in the blog post exactly how it could have happened.

Prior to the official launch of BBM there was an older version of this application and leaked on several file-sharing sites put so that anyone could download. The older version had a bug that caused was more data from the server asked than normal. Because this leaked version was rapidly distributed over the Internet, there were on Saturday more than 1 million accounts that too much data asked the BBM servers. And that did not work.
The version in the Google Play Store would end up, this bug did not but it could not block the users of the leaked version.

What next?
The only way to fix this problem was the rollout of applications for Android and iPhone stop. Currently the BBM team to update the servers that provide users with the wrong version will block work. In addition, they will take measures to prevent this. In the future
this is a big job and we do not we launch BBM for Android and iPhone more expected this week.
