Android app: 15 000 million apps downloaded

With a few months to live unless Apple App Store, Play Google is getting closer. Android app stores have passed the 15 000 million apps downloaded, and other evidence of good health, has been at Google stores more than half a million applications.

This figure comes from a few weeks ago but has been known now. Google released the latest data on the application download in January when the market is still there. Then he had downloaded 11 000 million Android apps from the official Google Store. In March, with a name change, Google does not provide new figures. The most likely time not yet reached the round of 15 000 million. Although British newspapers reported on Sunday that Google Turn just beyond the magic number, the source told TechCrunch that Google did "a few weeks ago."

The historical record is also another highlight. Play Google has over half a million applications available. Growth here has been more dramatic, with 100,000 new applications in the first four months of this year.

To put these numbers into perspective, nothing can compare with the App Store. Launched six months ago and 100% operational long before that-Market, App Store download a figure of 15 000 million last July and, according to TechCrunch, in March of this year reached 25,000 million. Here's a way. Among others, have affected the slower deployment of Android, with very little and the terminal manufacturer until last year.

The application is available, it is more equalized and, I at least did not rule out the possibility that Google turn the finish to beat App Store. In April, there were 600 000 and 500 000 applications for the IOS for Android devices.

These data are important to Google. With a growth rate of how you can be submitted with application developers and manufacturers with considerable argument about the power and profit from betting on Android.
